Problem:

Access to nature is becoming more and more difficult due to overdevelopment etc. Hawaii is home to many beautiful places, but is slowly becoming landlocked, many residents find themselves angered.

Trails are overgrown and in need of maintenance.

Invasives overtake trails and threaten the ability to enjoy them.

Solution:

The issue is a complex one regarding access, responsible access is a right in many Hawaii law statues, but some who access areas harm the area and a few bad apples can ruin it for everyone. We should promote responsible access and always look for new ways to gain trust from landowners and adopt new access ways for the public.

Access routes to mauka, makai lands and shoreline trails need to be created and improved for our communities.

Current trails will be improved and maintained for the future.

Recreation access and public areas should always remain a priority.
